More Saturday Gaming

I went over to Dan's house today for some Saturday Gaming. Our session included: Battle Line, Twilight Struggle, Caylus Magna Carta, and Sorry Sliders. I hate to admit it, but my new favorite of the day was Sorry Sliders. It really was a blast and I see why everyone I talk to has enjoyed this game!

Caylus Magna Carta continued to entice me, although I have not played it for a very long time. It's tough to compare this game to Caylus. Actually, it's probably better not to compare it to Caylus. It is so different that the linkage is pointless. It serves a different purpose than Caylus. My point is that Caylus plays well with 2. Perhaps it plays best in the 2 or 3 player range. AND, CmC plays best with 2 or 3. Any more than that, and I feel that it bogs down and overstays its welcome. The same applies to Caylus. Does that mean that either of the two games are "obsolete"? Nah. I don't think so. They are both fun enough that I would enjoy playing either. The card aspect of CmC alters your strategy enough that you are playing something different than if you were simply playing Caylus.

This was my second game of Twilight Struggle and I am not sure if I enjoyed it. That said, I will give it another go with Dan should he be willing at a future date. I know why people like it, I may simply not be one of those people.
