Update: November 6th

I started off the day with a trip to the Tower of London. Paul said that this place would satisfy my craving for a castle, and he was right. What a great location to spend a good chunk of the day! There are towers to explore, medieval walls, and tons of great tales to be told.

I joined in a guided tour with one of the beefeaters who man the castle. He did such a great job that, later on that night, when I went on the Jack the Ripper walk, I made sure to take his tour.

To the right of the Tower of London is the Tower Bridge.

After leaving the Tower, I headed across the river on the one and only LONDON BRIDGE!!!

Then it was off to Shakespeare's Globe Theater. I didn't go in, but it was neat to look at the outside of the building. My uncle recently lent me a book by Bill Bryson on Shakespeare, which made me want to see this.

Then I headed to St. Paul's Cathedral. Again, these entrance fees are driving me bonkers. So I didn't go in, but it was awesome in size and architectural beauty.

Next up was the Imperial War Museum. I didn't know what to expect, though Paul had recommended this museum. And it is great. Perhaps one of the best I have been to. I like war museums, so it had that going for it. Sadly, I was only able to see about half of the museum and missed out on a pretty cool spy exhibit. But I did get to walk through some trenches from WWI and sit through a bomb shelter experience.

I had some risotto at a nice restaurant on the way to the Jack the Ripper walk. I don't have many pictures from this guided tour, but here is something Harry Potter fans might recognize. Yeah, it's dark, but it's Diagon Alley!!!
