Check out this building, I hope that the picture conveys just how bright and red it was. And look how they used shading to try to make it look like the building had a different outer structure than it really does.

Trip to Sachsenhausen
Yesterday I visited Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp in Oranienburg.
It's kind of tough to describe this trip. The memorials were touching and many buildings were turned into exhaustive museums. I had not expected to spend as much time there as I did. I am glad I went and I would suggest that anyone visiting Berlin take a trip to this camp. Not only does it chronicle the experience of the Jewish prisoners of the camp, but it also goes into the lives of the individuals who were kept there after the GDR took over and the camp was used to hold political prisoners.
The town of Oranienburg was beautiful and on the way back from the camp, I decided to walk instead of taking the bus to get a better look at the town. (Actually, I was trying to find a building that was set apart from the others. I couldn't find it and by the time I gave up, I realized I may as well walk to the train station.)

After returning to the train station, I ended up stopping at a large shopping center and discovered another toy store.
I had gaming with Jeff at 6, so I went to his neighborhood and ate at the great pasta restaurant he showed me the other day. This time I had the Thai Kick.
Gaming was fun, but I also picked up one more piece of evidence that Halloween does exist in Germany. Mom, these are carved pumpkins. CARVED!

If I weren't so enjoying the pumpkin chili we made, I'd be quite envious of that beautiful Thai kick!
